Angelina Jolie Comic Book Biography

Angelina Jolie’s life is getting the comic book treatment.

The 35-year-old actress is the latest celebrity to be turned into a sketched character for Bluewater Productions’ wildly-popular Female Force series. The mother of six has been immortalized between the covers of a 32-page comic book that chats about her rise to fame and life with actor and partner Brad Pitt and their kids; Maddox, 9, Pax, 7, Zahara, 6, Shiloh, 4, and two-year-old twins Knox and Vivienne. The graphic tale — hitting comic book shelves for $3.99 on Wednesday — will also talk about Jolie’s diverse range of movie roles, including her roles in Gia and Girl, Interrupted, as well as her tireless work for charity.

“I learned a great deal about her struggles and triumphs as an actress, mother and humanitarian. Often painted as an edgy, slightly dangerous movie star, what is often not revealed about Ms. Jolie is her tireless commitment to charity work and her dedication to the plight of refugees around the world as a Goodwill Ambassador with the United Nations,” says Brent Sprecher, who wrote the Nuno Nobre-illustrated comic.

The Female Force series debuted in 2008 to showcase the accomplishments of strong and influential women who are shaping modern history and culture. Previous issues of the series have featured Michelle Obama, Hillary Clinton, Oprah Winfrey, Ellen DeGeneres, Margaret Thatcher, J.K. Rowling and Sarah Palin. Other stars set to star in their own Female Force comic books later this year include Beyonce Knowles and Betty White!

“We’re focusing our biography titles on the most intriguing celebrities, world leaders and artists,” says Bluewater president and founder Darren G. Davis. “This is by design. We want to bring new fans to comics. One way to do this is to publish biographies on celebrities that already have strong and dedicated fan bases.”
