Amitabh Bachchan in Department, Confirms RGV

Amitabh Bachchan and Ram Gopal Varma appeared to have settled their differences following a reported visit by the maverick director to the Bachchan residence on Tuesday, April 26.

It was earlier reported that Amitabh had decided to drop out of Varma's upcoming crime drama Department, after Varma sent uncomplimentary texts about Abhishek Bachchan's recently released film Dum Maaro Dum and announced that he had replaced Abhishek with Rana Daggubati in Department.

On Wednesday, a Twitter fan asked Amitabh if reports that he had dropped out of Department were true.

"It is rubbish false and untrue," Amitabh responded.

This morning, Varma, reiterated over Twitter that Amitabh Bachchan was a part of the film.

"Am mighty excited bout the role Mr. Bacchan is playing in `Department`..he's playing a gangster turned politician," he tweeted.

"Imagine the `Agneepath` character turning over a new leaf and yet to have the same hard intensity and been there done that knowhow," he added.

Varma had earlier told the Mumbai Mirror that Amitabh Bachchan's participation in Department was not a given.

"I haven't narrated the story or the role to him yet since the script is still underway. Only if the role requires him, I shall approach him," Varma had said.
