Salman Khan Large Hearted Amidst Hotties Asin, Zarine Khan at Ready Music Launch

Salman Khan made the music launch of his new film Ready a memorable and emotionally charged affair for cine workers whose contributions go unrecognized, at Sunil Maidaan, Filmcity, Goregaon in Mumbai on Monday, April 25.

Salman arrived at the venue in standout and unconventional attire: a leather jacket, a black shirt, grey Nike sweat pants, and brown leather shoes. (The black shirt appeared similar to what he earlier wore to Aamir Khan's Peepli Live preview in August, 2010, so it's probably a favorite!)

The venue for the music launch was as unconventional as Salman's attire - humble Govt run Filmcity, not a swanky five star hotel.

Salman picked the venue for the film's music launch, just like he made many other decisions about the film – the locales, cameos by Sanjay Dutt, Ajay Devgn and Kangana Ranaut, andthe decision to re-shoot the important 'Character Dheela Hai' song. An indication of the respect he commands in the film fraternity.

Following the music launch, Salaman explained the rationale for picking Filmcity as the music launch venue.

He said he wanted to dedicate the music of his film to the workers of the studio who work hard for the filming crews but never get invited to the events. He recalled that he had filmed Maine Pyar Kiya (1988) in Filmcity and still had memories of a woman who would relentlessly serve them water. Referring to that woman in the audience, Salman told Asin 'Yeh sab aap ki jaati ki hain."

Salman, 45, was at his wittiest best at the event. When asked if he had plans to do a super hero film, Salman brought the house down with his response.

"I can't wear a chaddi on pants and I can't get bitten by makdi...So I wont be any other man but just Sal'man'," he said.

Salman took turns posing for photogs with his Ready team - Asin, Zarine Khan, producers Bhushan Kumar and Krishan Kumar; and director Anees Bazmee – with a colorful bus serving as the backdrop.

He danced to his favorite song from the film, Character Dheela Hai. He called choreographer Mudasir on stage and shook a leg with him.

Salman made the day memorable for the low income workers of Film City. He gave away sarees to the women workers and other gifts to the men who make Filmcity happen.

Host Bhushan Kumar was overwhelmed. "Salman bhai is a good human being and only he can think of such an act. I am very glad we have made this event so personal to those who make our movies happen behind the scenes," said Bhushan Kumar, the head honcho of T Series.

The event was attended by Bhushan Kumar, Divya Khosla Kumar, singer Tulsi Kumar, Anees Bazmee, Boney Kapoor, Ajay Kapoor, Niketan Dheer, Sharat Saxena, Arya Babbar, Atul Agnihotri, Alvira Khan, Sohail Khan, Nitin Manmohan and Anuradha Patel Singh among others.
