Pop diva and actress Jennifer Lopez has reportedly turned down an offer to judge Simon Cowell’s US version of the talent show X Factor. The ‘Waiting for Tonight’ hitmaker was reportedly approached by the music mogul shortly after she had signed on to Simon Fuller’s ‘American Idol’, reported Mirror online. A source claimed that Cowell began “begging her to ditch it and join the panel of US X Factor”.The 41-year-old star was “bowled over by Cowell’s charm offensive” and initially agreed to make the switch, however, Lopez later changed her mind after Fuller personally flew to the US to speak with her.”Jennifer was perfectly happy with Idol, for which she earns $10 million, until Cowell lured her away with all sorts of ludicrous promises. Fuller flew in specially to have a quiet word with her in which he pointed out that he wouldn’t be making the Latino project she is so keen on unless she stayed,” said the source.”Jennifer quickly saw sense and pulled out of US X Factor, which is why you’ve got this unseemly scramble for judges going on as we speak.”The US version of the X Factor premieres later this year and it is expected that Pussycat Dolls star Nicole Scherzinger will join Cowell on the judging panel, with Cheryl Cole also likely to sign up.
