Arnold and Maria’s life together is about to come to a screeching halt after 25 years of marriage, if Arnie’s recent actions are any indication.
The former California governor has hired legal maverick Bob Kaufman to represent his interests in what could turn into a $200 million legal battle with the mother of his four children, former NBC News journalist Maria Shriver, 55. The Terminator star split from Shriver last month, shortly before it was publicly revealed that he’d fathered a child named Joseph, now 13, with the family’s housekeeper of 20 years, Mildred “Patty” Baena. Arnold has reportedly spent the past several months begging Maria and their kids — Katherine, 21, Christina, 19, Patrick, 17, and Christopher, 13, who born just a week before Joseph — to save their family.
So far, he has not been successful. Shocking, we know.
Kaufman has already been in contact with Shriver’s lawyer, Laura Wasser, and the high-powered attorneys are “moving forward” with divorce negotiations, TMZ.com reports. Snoops say both veteran litigators are experienced in dealing with high-profile celebrity divorces and will most likely keep mum on details of the split.
