Nicole “Snooki” Polizzi is no longer free to terrorize the roads of Florence. Officials in Italy have revoked the reality star’s driving privileges after her Monday afternoon collision with a police cruiser sent two law enforcement officials to the hospital and set the Jersey Shore guidette up for what could be a massive civil suit.
Polizzi, in the Renaissance city to tape the fourth season of the MTV show, rear-ended the patrol car as it was acting as an escort for her vehicle. Her Shore co-star Deena Cortese and a crew member were also in the car during the accident, but they escaped uninjured. The officers in the smashed cruiser were treated at a local hospital for whiplash and minor injuries. They’ll be out of work for at least a week as they recover.
Polizzi and Cortese were taken to a police station to fill out an accident report form but were not arrested. In accordance with Italian law, Polizzi’s license to drive in the country was revoked because the crash injured fellow motorists. Snooki, 23, appeared to have an injury of her own; she was snapped getting around town on foot today wearing a neck brace, but she soon removed it when the reality cameras started rolling. Faker? Stranger things have happened.
Since no alcohol was involved, it’s unlikely that she will face criminal prosecution over the crash. The two injured officers, however, could file a civil action suit against her, production squeals tell Us Weekly.
