This year’s Emmy will be hosted by Glee star Jane Lynch it was announced today.
The 50-year-old, Jane Lynch has generated a lot of attention from her TV show Glee, gaining recognition in the TV showbiz industry as a talented comedian.
Lynch is the third female actor/comedian to host the Emmys, after Angela Lansbury and Ellen DeGeneres.
The show's producers for the 2011 Emmy’s said they had no doubt in their minds about their selection. Lynch has incredible comic timing "whose energy leaps off the screen and stage”, said executive producer Mark Burnett.
Lynch got her first two nominations in 2010 and won her first Emmy for Outstanding Supporting Actress in Comedy Series for her work in Glee . Her other nomination was for her role in the Two and a Half Men in the category for Outstanding Guest Actress – Primetime Comedy Series.
Lynch plays ‘Sue Sylvester’ in the musical TV series Glee and performed the opening number, "Born to Run", with host Jimmy Fallon and rest of Glee cast members.
The 2011 Primetime Emmys will air live on Fox from the Nokia Theatre in L.A. on Sunday, September 18, 2011.
