Oscar-winning “Dreamgirl” Jennifer Hudson has signed on to play Sister Rosemary, an orphanage nun, in The Farrelly Brothers’ Three Stooges movie, Deadline Hollywood has learned.
Hudson joins a cast led by Chris Diamontopoulos, Sean Hayes, and Will Sasso. The plot, inspired by the original Stooges shorts, will have the trio left as newborns outside an orphanage and will follow them into adulthood, the full film being divided into three half-hour shorts. Joining the slimmed-down Jen as a nun are Glee’s Jane Lynch, who will be appearing as Mother Superior of the orphanage where the Stooges grow up, and Curb Your Enthusiasm actor Larry David.
The Three Stooges is currently in production and being eyed for release in 2012.
